Cecilia Lugo

Born in Tampico, Tamaulipas. A graduate of INBA as classical dancer, performed additional studies in Havana, Cuba, and New York, USA. He earned his BA in Latin American Studies at UNAM, and is a graduate of UDG as Bachelor in Performing Arts. She was part of the largest companies in Mexico Dance, Ballet Folklorico de Amalia Hernandez, National Classical Dance and Ballet Theatre INBA Space. He was also a founding member of the College of Choreography in Mexico. In 1986 he founded Contempodanza, who is director, choreographer and teacher.

She is Premio Nacional de Coreografía INBA 1986, three-time finalist in the Premio Nacional de Danza INBA-UAM, Special mention in the contest Oscar López, Barcelona, España 1989. For the fourth time in 2010, is awarded the scholarship Sistema Nacional de Creadores Artísticos, FONCA.

Under his leadership, Contempodanza fourth consecutive times receives support by México en Escena, FONCA, 2004-2006, 2007-2009, 2009-2011 and 2012-2013. She was invited to France to ride the choreography for the opera Les Marimba L `Exil directed by Charlotte Nessi with the National Lyric Opera of Paris, France. Contempodanza Espacio en movimiento, Centro de Formación Profesional para Bailarín en Danza Contemporánea, was founded in January 2006 with Maria Teresa Lugo, She wins the Gran Prix in Prague in the New Prague Dance Festival 2008. On August 24, 2008, the National Institute of Fine Arts offers the highest honor awarded by the Institution,Medalla Bellas Artes artistic merit, likewise, under the XXVIII International Festival of Contemporary Dance Lila López, receives Premio Guillermina Bravo, by career. On May 4, 2011 receives thePremio Nacional de Danza José Limón 2011, for her artistic trajectory. On may 22, 2011, celebrating the twenty fifth anniversary of Contempodanza in Sala Miguel Cuvarrubias, UNAM and on july 30 also celebrating the twenty fifth anniversary of Contempodanza in the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City and reveal the Placa Conmemorativa: Mr. Governor of the State of Tamaulipas, Mr. Egidio Torre Cantu, Consuelo Sáizar, President of Conaculta, Teresa Vicencio, Director of INBA, Guillermina Bravo, choreographer and Lucina Jiménez, Director of ConArte.
